The Baccalaureate is an exciting new initiative, developed by the staff at West Exe School and was launched in September 2018. Its central aim is to help students develop holistically through equipping them with the knowledge, understanding and skills they will need to succeed and thrive as 21st century citizens. Through studying the Baccalaureate, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of a wide range of topics and issues from religious studies, human rights, politics and the law to animal rights and medical ethics.
The Baccalaureate will teach the students practical people, work and financial skills and also includes elements of PSHE such as relationships education and mental health awareness. Throughout the course there will be numerous opportunities for the students to develop employability skills such as research, problem-solving and resilience.
